The transition at work to my new position has been very stressful. It ruined my sleep pattern, threw off my good eating habits, and I think was exacerbated by my attempts to train hard through it. I was getting burned out, getting very stiff-jointed, and fealt constantly frazzled. Things that used to hardly bother me were sparking anger, tension, and depression. People even started asking me "what's wrong?" "What happened?" and "are things okay at home?" Eventually, I stopped training, but it didn't help a thing. All the problems persisted, and I still felt like a wreck physically, mentally, and emotionally. So, I busted out my old YRG (yoga for regular guys) 3 dvd set that I had never really gotten into. 3 weeks in, I'm feeling much better, and people now ask what I'm doing, how I'm staying so calm, and saying it's nice to have the old Storm back. I was initially worried I'd turn to a scrawny pretzel person if I did yoga, but it's almost uncanny how much better I feel. I'm not pitching this to anyone, but just posting my own experience. I know a lot of you guys get these benefits from the training you do now, and that's awesome. I never thought I'd be saying anything positive about yoga, regardless of what kind. I know there are a lot of you who have made radical transitions in your training, have any of you done YRG or anything similar? Any opinions on pros/cons, or better options? Should I just grow a pair and go back to the iron? Thanks for any and all feedback.
