My wife was looking for a different workout to do, and lately we've done workouts together where we alternate who lifts. So, today, she deadlifted a pair
of kettlebells sumo, and I deadlifted a bar. The plan was, as Bryce suggests, to start out with a weight we thought we could do for 30 reps in 20 minutes and
build up from there. I used 255 lbs. on a standard Oly bar and kept it simple - a triple every 2 minutes.
We were actually a bit ahead of pace and I probably would have gotten one or two extra sets of 3 in, but the ends of my bar tend to loosen, and as I put down the first rep of the 10th set, the bolt holding in one end of my bar bounced out. It took a bit of time to put it all back together, so in the end we were content to each have done 10 sets of 3 reps.
That's it - it's a fine workout idea, although with the deadlift, I don't think I'd do it more than once a week.
